Architecture: BIG — Bjarke Ingels Group. Work completed as part of the project team.
The Chamartín competition proposal uses continuous green ribbons and arching roof forms to unite a rail station with offices, retail and a hotel. Daylight, pedestrian connections and landscape form the basis of a cohesive experience across the development.
- Coordinated local architects, structural engineers and consultants during concept development.
- Worked with local regulations and competition requirements to develop a feasible proposal.
- Contributed to the delivery of the competition submission within its schedule and budget.
Connecting program and place.
The section and interior visualization describe the relationship between the roof, daylight and public circulation. The proposal required alignment between an ambitious design concept and multiple local disciplines.
